the best apple pie
filling
- 2/3 cup of sugar
- 2 table spoons of flour
- 2/3 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 3/4 teaspoon of allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon of cloves
- 8 to 10 tart apples
- 19″ unbaked deep dish pie shell
topping
- 1/2 cup of flour
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 1/4 cup of slightly soften butter
Directions
- preheat oven to 400f
- peel and core apples
- cut apples in half then thinly slice apples roughly 1/8 inch thick
- add sliced apples to bowl with the dry ingredients for filling1 then mix
- partially bake pie crush for 10 to 15 min or till golden brown
- now drain the apples MAKE SURE TO KEEP LIQUID and layer apples in pie crust
- cut butter into 1/2 inch slices then add all topping ingredients to the liquid from the apples
- mix topping ingredients till it becomes like clumpy sand
- use the topping to cover the apples in the pie crust making sure you can’t see any apples
- then bake pie for 45 to 50 min or until topping is golden brown
- once done baking cool for 2 hours
- then injoy
